Our Story
The Rebel Royals is a team committed to developing our individual dance skills, showcasing our collective talent, supporting our Rebel teams, and entertaining our Rebel audience!
The inaugural season of the Byrnes High School Dance Team began in October 2017. With a stellar showing in six performances, including basketball halftime shows and school events; their first season was a shining success.
The 2018/2019 team added Friday night home football performances to the lineup and brought an extra element of excitement and school spirit to Nixon field with full game sideline performances in in the East End Zone along with pregame and halftime performances.
This impressive team also earned outstanding accolades as they assumed competition status on the nationally acclaimed Universal Dance Association (UDA) circuit, earning top three placement in all THREE divisions (Jazz, Hip Hop, and Game Day) in their very first competition at the Southeastern Peachtree City Championship in Georgia!
The Rebel Royals Varsity Dance Team currently competes in regional competitions within the South Carolina Dance Association (SCDA) each season. From 2020 to 2024, the team has collected placements, trophies, and accolades at a variety of reginal competitions and have scored 1st - 3rd place finishes over ten times. Most impressively, they have successfully qualified for the SC STATE competition for the past seven years!
The Royals are eager and excited for the 2025/2026 season as they look to expand their competition schedule and, as always, support our Rebel Family on the field and on the court!
